Reading 06 - Doing

Hello and welcome back to my blog! This is a post for the reading tasks this week. For this week we had to read over what we highlighted last week and then rewrite them, so we have paragraphs that are definitely not plagiarised! I went in thinking this was going to be easy and I’d get it done in no time but that wasn’t the case. I sat down to do them Thursday, Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday? I’ve no idea why I just couldn’t do them, I was lacking motivation big time. I finally finished them just having to do the last paragraph today. I’m just hoping I did them correctly and they’re okay. I dread each week having to do the reading tasks, it’s just not my forte. Now don’t get me wrong it was definitely better than having to read papers and then write about them (because that was torture) but it was still bad (lol). Let's hope the commenting for next week isn't as bad as this! I think this really shows me I picked the right idea for a college course that’s (mostly) hands-on without the whole essays every other week. I definitely wouldn’t have lasted trying to do any of them. Anyways, I’m ranting on so thanks for reading!!

Hope you enjoyed me ranting.

Tutorial 05 - Week 18(06)

Hello! This post is about the 5th unity tutorial for week 18(06).

I thought this week's tutorial went grand, it was handy enough! Nothing extremely complicated. The only thing that got me was them just being like add "blank" into the enemy script and even worse when they were just like add one of those in. I didn't like how it didn't say exactly what to add to the code. I know this is obviously to get used to it but I still struggle, unfortunately. I am getting there though so look, any progress is enough for me! They also linked the wrong tutorial to go back and look at for slicing the particles up so I had to go back to find that which was a pain. It wasn't a big thing but I couldn't remember where it was.

Here are some screenshots of the game and how it's looking. I was surprised how easy it was to make the camera move with the player and expand the area where I can run.

I'm delighted now that the game jam is over that I don't have to make an actual game by myself now, I do think it took a lot of pressure off us which is great. That's all from me now!
Thanks for reading,

Tech Task - Blogger Template

For this week's tech tip, I decided to change up my blogger template! I really don't like any of the ones they have to offer so I searched the internet for some free ones to see if it was possible to bring it in with code and it was!! I found this website and I decided to use this template. I customized it too using my knowledge of HTML. I am really happy with how it came out, the only thing that annoys me is the image at the side is awful quality because the higher quality one was too big of a file but sure nothing I can do! I made a little header for the top left of my blog too as shown in the new pictures below of the new theme!

Here are before and after pictures:
